IT IS NOT ABOUT CONVENIENCE

IT IS NOT ABOUT CONVENIENCE

“And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.”  Luke 9:23 (KJV)

Jesus is already leaving in our future because He is the future. That means if our commitment is total and we truly follow Him the way we should, then it is easy for us to actualize what is in the future. We may not fully understand how it will happen but He knows how to get us there. That is why it is key when you know who you are following.

When you sit to think about the price that God paid for your salvation, it will change your disposition for good. God went out of His way to sort you out without consulting you. He knew how you were, He knew your shortcoming, He knew your weakness and He still believed in you to the extent of investing Himself in you. He paid the price to deliver you from the power of darkness. He didn’t stop there, He also translated into the kingdom of His dear Son. He placed you in a position of power and favour. When you sit down to comprehend it, it will cause you to go out of your way. You won’t serve God out of convenience. You will worship Him whether it is convenient or not. Search the scriptures, all those who did exploits and were able to go beyond themselves were people who understood what the Lord has done in their lives.

Jesus said: “And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.” (Luke 14:27 KJV). You take your cross at the crossroad of life. If you are not willing to bear your cross, you can’t follow, and you can’t be His disciple. He is telling us right away that it is not about convenience. There are seasons of contradiction. Don’t be in the company of people who follow only in good seasons. You will miss out on what God has purposed for you if you follow only in good seasons.
