IT IS GOD’S BATTLE

IT IS GOD’S BATTLE

“And seven priests shall bear before the ark seven trumpets of rams’ horns: and the seventh day ye shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow with the trumpets. And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up every man straight before him.” (Joshua 6:4-5 KJV)

According to the account in the book of Joshua 6, Jericho was straitly shut, noone could go into the city, and noone could leave the city. But God said to Joshua in Joshua 6:2 (KJV) “…See, I have given into thine hand Jericho, and the king thereof, and the mighty men of valour.”, and verse 20 records that after the great shout, the wall fell down flat, according to that which was spoken.

In Samaria, God ended a severe famine in a single day. The situation had become so dire that people were killing and eating human being in Samaria. God sent Elisha to let them know that the time of affliction was over. 2 Kings 7:1 (KJV) says, “…Thus saith the LORD, Tomorrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.”

How long did it take God to change that condition? A single day! Often times we approach God as if He is man. He is not a man, He is God. Overnight the economy of Samaria changed because God spoke. Your situation can turn around before the end of today. God does not change and will not change. What he did yesterday, He can do again today, and He will do it in your life. He is the same God yesterday, today and for ever more.
