I HAVE GOOD NEWS FOR YOU
“”The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”” (Luke 4:18-19 ESV)
Dearly beloved, I bring you greetings in the name that is above every other name, Jesus Christ the Son of the Living God and our soon coming King. Welcome to the month of September, the month wherein you will birth your miracle. This is the time you’ve been looking up to God for, and I know without any shadow of doubt in my heart that you will testify. The tempest may be raging, and billows may be tossing high, but your testimony is assured. This is why I love Jesus so much; our text above shows us the purpose for which God sent him into this world. He was sent for you and I.
Beloved, the gospel of Jesus Christ is the good news. Jesus tells us in the scripture above that the reason for his anointing is to proclaim good news. Child of God for too long you have been feeding your mind with bad news, news of doom and wars, and yes I understand that we live in very precarious times, but Jesus came to give us good news. It’s high time you begin to feed your mind and spirit with the good news of Christ. And what is that good news? You will make it. You will succeed. No weapon fashioned against you shall prosper. You are victorious, you are more than a conqueror, the greater One lives inside of you, He is greater than your challenges, greater than anything that could ever come against you. All things are working together for your good.
Someone is saying bro Mike, this situation is so bleak, I can’t even see my way out of it, but 2 Corinthians 4:6 (KJV) tells us “For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” Therefore I call forth light out of darkness in the name of Jesus. You shall not be defeated. You see this is the purpose why God sent His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, will not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16). Did you see that, our part is to believe the good news; His part is to bring the word to pass.
Child of God, feed on the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know its important to listen to the news, and to keep abreast of the happenings in the society, but your heart must be so fixed on the good news of the gospel that even when you are watching the news, and the tales of dooms start, you can boldly declare to yourself that my case is different. When the news is saying recession, you declare to yourself it’s not my portion, as for me and my household, there’s a lifting. This is what it means to live by the Word of God.
Beloved, don’t count yourself out, I know we are in September, but this is still your year of New Things, and I decree that New Things will happen for you (Isaiah 43:19). During the crossover service, I explained to us that what God is doing is new, its fresh, novel, original, He is setting precedence with you. So forget what you used to know, He is doing something that has never been seen before. Remain expectant.
I bless you today in Jesus’ name, Amen.
Maranatha!
