HOW FAITH WORKS
“And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.” Mark 11:22-23. KJV
Jesus was hungry, He saw a fig tree from afar off and came to it. He wanted to eat of it. The leaves were luxuriant and green, so He expected it to have some figs. When He got there, He found none. Jesus cursed the fig tree and said that no man would eat of the tree thereafter and forever. What does that show you? If there is anything trying to tell you that you wouldn’t get what God has planned; curse it. Declare that from this moment forward, it will no longer function. Shut it down. Jesus answered the fig tree. That means the fig tree was telling him ‘you won’t get it. You are going to die of hunger.’
The disciples heard when Jesus cursed the tree, but they didn’t say anything. They must have thought within themselves that Jesus had gone off course. On their way back, the Bible says the fig tree was dried up from the root. Don’t ever doubt, whether you would be obeyed or not because where the word of the king is, there is power. When a king issues a decree, he does not begin to check whether his subjects will obey or not. The king sits down, issues a decree and goes to sleep knowing that you cannot violate it.
The disciples came to Jesus and said, ‘the fig tree that you cursed is dead. It’s dried up from the root.’ He said; let me teach you how faith works. Whosoever shall say to this mountain, be thou removed, be thou cast into the sea, and shall not doubt in his heart, but believe what he has said, he shall have what he has said. Even though it doesn’t seem to be moving, the king has spoken. There may be no physical evidence that it has moved, but I already believe it has moved. Believe that it has happened. He didn’t say, you should believe when you see it.
