HE IS THERE IN YOUR STORM

HE IS THERE IN YOUR STORM

“But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.” Matthew 14:27 (KJV)

Storms of life come to us in diverse ways. It affects every area of our lives: business, health, academic, financial, marital, family, ministry.

Jesus made this very clear in John 16:33 when He warned us that in the world, we shall have tribulation. God knew ahead of time and made it abundantly clear. He did not say, “you may have tribulation” but He said, “In the world ye shall have tribulation ….” (Emphasis mine). So, tribulation will surely come. But then, He did not leave us without comfort. He went on to say “but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world” Did you see that? He did not say you will overcome it, rather He said He has overcome it for us. This is proof that He is there in your storm and not only is He there, but He has also already overcome it.

Perhaps you are in one storm or the other right now as you are holding this devotional and you feel like caving in, be encouraged that Jesus sees what you are going through right now and He does not jump ship in your darkest hour. He is a PRE-SENT help in the time of your need.

Peter and the rest of the disciples were in a storm one night, He did not abandon them but rather walked upon the storm to give them a helping hand. They had never seen Him in that manner and so were frightened, thinking it was a spirit. He spoke words of comfort to them ‘’Be of good cheer: It is I be not afraid’’ He is saying the same to you. ‘’Be of good cheer: It is I be not afraid.”

He is walking upon the very challenge threatening your life. As long as your eyes are on Him, you will come out of it. Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith Hebrew 12:2. As you keep your eyes focused only on Him you will surely walk out of that challenge.
