HAPPY MOTHERS’ DAY

“Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come”. Proverbs 31:25 (KJV)

Today, I join the world again to celebrate our mothers. Motherhood is a very special assignment that God has committed into the hands of our mothers. Sometimes, you look at the average mother and wonder how she balances it all: home, work, Christian experience etc. I know it is a lot, but the beautiful thing is that God has specially designed the women to handle it all. They can multitask in ways that beat the imagination of the average man. They have a high sense of intuition and are very discerning. Today, I celebrate all mothers.

As we celebrate you today, I draw your attention to Proverbs 31. I know we have read it repeatedly and many sermons have been preached from it, but look again at verse 25, our scripture for today: Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. Hmmmm … did you see that? She has strength and honour, but she shall rejoice in time to come. In other words, today might not appear glorious. Today, you may be going through pains to build that home, nurture that child, and build that career, but don’t give up. The pain is not forever, there is joy ahead of you. I love the scripture in the Amplified Classic edition: Proverbs 31:25 – AMPC “Strength and dignity are her clothing and her position is strong and secure; she rejoices over the future [the latter day or time to come, knowing that she and her family are in readiness for it]!” Did you see that? Your position is strong and secure, it cannot be shaken. Rejoice over the future, look ahead and see the success and the glory ahead of you.

To all mothers out there, I encourage you not to give up, don’t throw in the towel. Be like Jesus, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross (Heb. 12:2). Rejoice knowing that no matter what the devil throws at your family, it cannot succeed because you have built on a solid foundation, Jesus Christ. Happy Mothers’ Day.
