HAPPY CHILDREN’S DAY
Comments
“Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.”
Psalm 127:3 (KJV)
Psalm 127:3 (KJV)
Today is children’s day, I wish every child a very happy children’s day. I thank God for every child that God has graciously blessed us with and it is my prayer that every child will fulfil purpose in Jesus’ name.
The scripture above is a very popular scripture, but not one to be taken for granted. The Bible says that children are God’s heritage. What does the word heritage mean? The word heritage talks about inheritance, something owned by a person by reason of transfer. The children do not belong to you; you are simply God’s caretaker. He has committed them into your hands for a purpose and my prayer for you is that you will not fail in this assignment; the children will fulfil purpose in Jesus’ name.
So how do I ensure that God’s heritage is preserved? Beloved, children learn more by example than words. So train them in the way that they should go, not in theory, but in practice. No matter the age of the child, they are not too early to learn. Bring the children to devotion, teach them to give by giving them offering from home; teach them tithing by showing them how to pay their tithe. Teach them to put God first by showing them by example. Don’t forget, you are just a caretaker and God expects you to bring them up in His way, knowing that when the right foundation is laid, they will never depart from it.
Also today, thank God it is Saturday, take the children out. Let them have fun. Celebrate them today in a way they will live to remember. Form a culture of celebrating people, so they grow up with it. If you can, watch a movie with them, let them feel free around you, be their friend so they are open to you and above all, be determined to let them see God in you.
