“My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.” Proverbs 4:20-22 (KJV)
One of the things you must settle in your spirit is that there is a guaranteed answer to every question you have and a solution for every challenge in your life. The Bible is a comprehensive book. Without any shadow of a doubt, the Bible is the word of God, and it applies to every situation. No matter what you are going through, there is a word for you concerning that situation in the Bible.
Unfortunately, so many believers are walking in defeat because they have been distracted from the very thing that guarantees victory. They read every other book but the Bible, they meditate on every other thing but the word of God and this leaves them drained. But you need to hear this: The devil will do everything to stop you from opening your Bible or allow you to sit down and hear the word of God preached or taught, so don’t allow him.
Many times, the devil does not come directly to you but in a very subtle manner like getting you busy with supposed ‘’legitimate things’’, going on a visit to someone, socializing, getting you tired, procrastination amongst other “valid” excuses. But listen, no matter how valid your excuses are, they are still excuses, you must get rid of them.
You must know about the verse of the scriptures that speak to your challenge so that you can meditate on it, that is a major benefit of studying the word. The fact that you find a scripture that addresses the challenge strengthens you as you hold on to the word until the manifestation comes.
Jesus Himself when faced with challenge used the word: “It Is Written Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God’’ Matthew 4:4. Our text assures us that God’s word is life and healing for us when we find it. Hold on to the word of God, it never fails.
