GRACE TAKES YOU TO THE PALACE

GRACE TAKES YOU TO THE PALACE

“… As for Mephibosheth, said the king, he shall eat at my table, as one of the king’s sons.”

(2 Samuel 9:11 KJV)

Many people have grown to see God as One who wants to kill, and who is always looking out for your mistakes. God has been presented as a hard task master who is always looking out for your faults and even your best is not good enough. He has not been presented as the One who loves you with an everlasting love. There is a love dimension of the love of God that makes you unafraid of anything. You will not be looking behind because you have the confident assurance that your past, present and future are covered, because He loves you. That is the God you serve.

When David became king, he asked “is there anyone still left in the house of Saul that I may show him kindness?” Simply because of a covenant with Jonathan. And David was told of someone in Lo-debar, who to worsen it, was a cripple – not worthy to come before the king. Can you imagine a Prince in Lo-debar, a place of no pasture? That might be your story today, you look at yourself and see your unworthiness. But no matter how low you may be right now, grace goes lower to pick you up and brings you to the palace. Irrespective of the area of your life where you feel like Lo-Debar right now, God is reaching out to you.

It is interesting to note that, Mephibosheth was not born a cripple, but circumstances of life made him a cripple. The maid that dropped him was actually planning to protect him, but see where it all ended. Could that be you? You started out doing well in life, the future looked fantastic, like Mephibosheth, a prince with all the perks of the palace. But something happened and the story changed. If that is you, I have come to encourage you to cheer up, grace is reaching out to you. God is bringing you out. The Lord will turn your captivity and you will be like them that dream. He will give you a seat on the table of the king. You are heading for the palace in Jesus’ name.
