GRACE DRAWS YOU TO GOD

“As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.”

(Psalms 42:1 KJV)

 

David was a man who understood grace and because of this, he is still being celebrated in Israel today as the greatest king that ever lived. He was the one who taught me that God is my glory and the lifter up of my head. He taught me that my seed will serve Him and will be counted to him for a generation. He taught me that when I dwell in the secret place of the Most High, I will abide under the shadow of the Almighty and I can say of the Lord He is my refuge and fortress. He taught me that the earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof. He doesn’t believe it belongs to the occultists. He said the Lord has encompassed me; He has covered me with glory and favour like a shield, so I am walking on favoured ground.

He is the same person who taught us how to run to God even when we have blown it. David slept with Uriah’s wife, called Uriah from the battle front and orchestrated his death. Yet God’s verdict about him is that he is a man after God’s heart. David understood grace that is why he looked at Prophet Nathan and accepted that he was guilty and by so doing fought his way back to God.

The Bible says, let us come boldly to the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help. When you have blown it completely, it is not the time to run from the church. Rather, it is the time to run to the church because grace is always available. God specializes in qualifying the unqualified because it is the ungodly and the unqualified that needs grace. And you know what? Grace does not leave you alone. It goes down into the pit with you to bring you out. No matter how low you have gone, grace tells you that righteous people don’t stay there. Grace always points you to who you are and not what you did wrong.
