GOD LOVES YOU
“And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?” Genesis 3:9 KJV
Adam and Eve “….heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.”(Genesis 3:8 KJV). And God called out to Adam. Where art thou? In essence, God was saying: “Adam, where are you? I am hungry for fellowship! I love you so much! I cannot do without fellowshipping with you! I love you so much that I need you around me! I love you much! Let’s hang out”.
And Adam said: “… I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.” (Genesis 3:10 KJV). Notice that Adam heard God’s voice. It wasn’t a case of I didn’t hear you. Adam heard God’s voice and he was afraid. There are still many people who are afraid of God today because they still don’t understand the everlasting love of God for them. “…I was afraid because I was naked, and I hid myself’. Stop hiding!
This is the time to come out! For those of you who are hiding from God, those of you who are rejecting God and are not ready to acknowledge Him for who He is, it is time to embrace His love.
God loves you despite your mess. Yes, you spat in His face, but He still loves. His love for you is unconditional and unmerited. It doesn’t matter what you have done wrong, God still loves you. That is what makes Him who He is. We are not talking about the love of man! We are not talking about a love of a husband or the love of an earthly father. No! We are talking about the love of God. We are talking of the agape love: God’s kind of love.
It is a love that loves you despite your wrongdoings. This God’s love is favorably disposed to dispense only good. Despite your mess, God is favorably disposed to give you good because He loves you. Adam messed up! God knew that Adam messed up, yet He reached out to him. That’s God’s love on display.
