GOD IS STILL GOD

“Unless the LORD builds a house, the work of the builders is wasted. Unless the LORD protects a city, guarding it with sentries will do no good.” (Psalms 127:1 NLT)

What a unique scripture that we have today as our foundation scripture. In the world where expertise and human efforts have thrived, as manifested in the level of progress that has been made in the world of technology, it is very easy to forget the place of God. If you sit back and think about what the human mind has been able to achieve in our world, it is mind blowing. As a result of these, it is so easy not to give God his place.

But I have come to tell you that God is still God. He remains the Almighty. He is the possessor of heaven and earth. When He shuts, no one can open. When He opens no one can shut. He can kill, He can make alive. He can make and unmake. He can build and He can destroy. He can wound and He can heal. He is the one that upholds all things by the word of His power. His word can never fail. He is in an exclusive class of his own.

And so David tells us, except the Lord builds a house, in vain do we build. Except the Lord watches over a city, the watchman waketh but in vain. David is in effect saying; leave God in His place. Let Him take the center place that He alone deserves. God has always deserved the center place. You cannot put Him behind. You cannot lock him up in a box. You must put Him in His place because nothing exists without God. You know that everything exists and flourishes better in its own environment. If you put a fish inside water, it doesn’t struggle to swim. That is its environment! But it will begin to suffocate if you take it out of water because that is not its environment. Man was not created to struggle as long as he functions in God. Struggle begins when we ignore God.
