GOD IS NEVER LATE

“Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him hastily out of the dungeon: and he shaved himself, and changed his raiment, and came in unto Pharaoh.” Genesis 41:14

If you read the story of Joseph, you will see what I was sharing yesterday play out before you. Joseph, a son dearly beloved of his father had a dream. The dream was so clear that his father, without much effort interpreted it well but it looked too impossible to come to pass. Even the father said to him in verse 10 of Genesis 37, when he told his father the second dream “… What is this dream that thou has dreamed? Shall I and thy mother and thy brethren indeed come to bow down ourselves to thee to the earth?” That was his father speaking, so imagine the animosity his dream generated between him and his siblings. But all the animosity in the world could not stop the dream from coming to pass.

 

In the journey to the fulfilment of the dream, Joseph got sold into slavery by his own brothers. He got thrown into prison for an offence he did not commit. Everything around him looked like the dream was totally impossible. Even in the prison, when he interpreted the dream of the butler and the baker, there seemed to be a ray of hope, but the butler forgot him and again all hope appeared lost. But think of it, if the butler had remembered Joseph, the best that would have happened was him being a beneficiary of the King’s amnesty program. He would have left the prison and wandered far away, thankful for his freedom, but that was very far from the plan of God for his life. Of course, when the king had a dream, they would not have known how to contact him

 

So, the butler forgetting him was part of the plan of God. All the discouragements along the way could not get Joseph bitter, he hung to the promise of God and when the king had a dream, only Joseph could interpret it and in one day, he moved from the prison to the palace. I encourage you today, don’t give up; the vision will come to pass.
