GOD IS GOOD

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning” James 1:17 (KJV)

Grace is God’s unmerited favour. It is unearned and undeserved. It is God’s disposition to show us good. God is good and does good. Grace is not about what you did right or wrong. It is about who God is. God chose to be good to humanity. He gives rain to both the good and the bad. He gives us everything good. He is the one that gives you the air to breathe. Aren’t you glad that He did not shut down air for a few people? Everyone has access to air. The ability to breathe in and out, sleep and wake up and the appetite to eat are all products of God’s goodness.

God is a good God. He gives us all things to enjoy. He makes all things beautiful for His children. And it is not predicated on what we do. For instance, before Adam was created, God had made everything that was essential for Adam and Eve to survive. They did not have to beg Him. They did not plead with Him. Even when Adam blew it, He chased after Adam, showing him that He wanted to do him good. That is the God we serve.

The other day God came to a man named Abraham who was in the night season of his life. Abraham had never had a baby. And he never believed that he would still have one.

As far as he was concerned it was over for him. But God came and delivered him. His story was not about to end where his father’s story ended. His life was just about to begin at 75. That is why no one has the right to shut down their life as long as they are still breathing. As long as you are breathing, keep on dreaming. If you have dreamt before, dream again. God kept you alive for a purpose. No matter your age, your life has not come to an end, you still have something to contribute.
