GOD HAS MADE ALL THINGS READY
“And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready.” Luke 14:17 (KJV)
From the parable of the great banquet, our text tells that the King made everything ready before sending the invites to the people. When Jesus Christ came and said, “…It is finished:” John 19:30 (KJV), He meant ‘It Is Finished’. The price is fully paid! The debt you owe the adversary was paid for. The debt you owe him that made him put you in bondage has been paid for, and it is finished. These three words, “IT IS FINISHED” are powerful words in the Christian faith. It means whatever is required has been paid.
David was outstanding! Hear him in Psalm 23:1, He said, “The LORD is my shepherd;…” Beloved, it is a Shepherd that chooses his Sheep and then takes responsibility for them. The Sheep don’t choose Shepherds. “He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters.” Psalm 23:2 (KJV). I cannot make me; He makes me. He restores my soul. He caused everything to happen to me. Even when I walk astray, He brings me back because He is the one who made all things ready. Stop struggling and start receiving the table He has prepared before you in the presence of your enemy. He is not an absentee Father! He does not go on vacation. He is there with you.
No wonder David said I will dwell in the house of the Lord because he discovered, without any shadow of a doubt, that God’s goodness and mercy are always following him. His goodness and loving-kindness are always there.
Stop fretting! If God takes care of the lily of the valleys and, the birds of the air, much more, He will supply all your needs. No matter the situation in the jungle, the lion will never eat grass. The lion will always eat flesh because flesh must be provided. Settle it in your heart, once and for all, that you will not lack any good thing. He has made all things ready!
