GIVE WILLINGLY AND JOYFULLY

GIVE WILLINGLY AND JOYFULLY

“But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee.” 1Chronicles 29:14 KJV

God had told David not to build Him a temple because his hands were filled with blood. However, David made the necessary preparations for the construction of the temple. He was not going to be the face of the project, yet he prepared.

You know some people will withhold their hands so long as they are not the engine driving the truck. Consequently, the corporate anointing that is supposed to pour in will be withheld. But the truth is that you don’t have to be the one in front. Probably you don’t know how to drive. If we put you on the wheel, you will kill all of us including yourself. Everyone cannot sit on the driver’s seat. It is a synergy. Someone must be the conductor to collect money. So, don’t withhold your hand and say, “let them do their thing” simply because you are not the coordinator.

David went out of his way to prepare for the building project, setting the pace as a leader to give willingly (1Chronicles 29:3 KJV). This is a man who truly loves God with all his heart. In addition, David went ahead to challenge his leaders to give and they gave willingly for the service of the house of God in 1 Chronicles 29:6. They were not forced. If you have truly encountered Christ, giving for the service of the house of God shouldn’t be a struggle. It should be a thing of joy just like they did when they gave for the building project: “Then the people rejoiced, for that they offered willingly, because with perfect heart they offered willingly to the LORD…” (1Chronicles 29:9 KJV).

So you see, we need to see giving as an opportunity to serve Him and thank Him for the ability to give of our resources. It is an honor to be called upon and be able to give towards God’s agenda.
