FORGET TO BE FRUITFUL

FORGET TO BE FRUITFUL

“And Joseph called the name of the firstborn Manasseh: For God, said he, hath made me forget all my toil, and all my father’s house.” Genesis 41:51 (KJV)

One of the challenges of moving forward is past experiences. I am sure someone reading this will recall the word of last year and the challenges of last year and begin to raise doubt in his or her heart. Child of God, learn from Joseph today. If you must enjoy God’s fullness this year and see all that He has promised you come to pass, then you must learn to let go of yesterday. Let go of the pains, let go of the gains, be conscious of the fact that it is a brand new year for you and God is set to do New Things in your life.

In the story in Genesis 41, Joseph, who had faced the worst challenges growing up, made a decision you must also make and stick to as the year rolls on. Remember Joseph, he was his father’s beloved, being the child of his old age. His father loved him and never hid it and this aroused jealousy from his brothers. You know the story, he was finally sold into slavery and even in slavery, he was lied upon and landed in prison from Portiphar’s house, where, though a slave, he was lord of all. Finally, he interpreted the King’s dream and overnight moved from the prison to the palace. Not only did he become the Prime Minister, he also married the king’s daughter, what an honour! But his wisdom was displayed when his wife had his first child and he named him Manasseh, saying God had made him to FORGET. He knew that he could not hold on to the past and expect to succeed, and soon after he has a second son whom he called Ephraim meaning fruitful.

Do you want to have a fruitful 2017? If yes, then decide to let go of the past. Don’t seek revenge and don’t let your background nail you to the ground. Arise, be focused, looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of your faith and without a doubt, you will succeed.
