FOCUS YOUR EYES ON THE WORD

FOCUS YOUR EYES ON THE WORD

“But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.” Matthew 14:30 KJV

Child of God, you should not let the Word of God depart from your eyes. Let your eyes be filled with the Word, not the circumstances around you. As Peter began to walk on water, he performed the supernatural naturally. But suddenly, he began to look around him. He was no longer focused. The result was that he started sinking. Peter began to sink when he took his eyes off the Word. The devil would have told him, “Peter, human beings don’t walk on water,” and he paid attention to the devil.

When you fail to allow the Word to stay in your eyes, you will sink. Proverbs 4:21 says: “Let them not depart from your eyes, keep them in the midst of thine heart” (KJV). That means there are some toxic books you have to throw away. There are some movies you don’t have to watch because they will neither build you up nor edify you. Rather, they will frighten you and by the time you go to bed, you will be dreaming of demons. You have to fight for your life and for your family. There are some disciplines you have to maintain as a child of God.

Do not listen to those who will say to you, “let me take you somewhere. You must say “no” to such people. What the Word cannot give to you:

  1. Does not exist
  2. You don’t need it.

When you are under pressure, the devil will give you a scripture that doesn’t exist: “Heaven helps those who help themselves.” When you see people disobey God because of certain situations they are facing, it is because they are under pressure, not that they don’t know that they are doing the wrong thing. If not, why didn’t they discuss their action or movement with their pastor? Pressure is something that you must be careful about. You have to allow peace to be your umpire. That’s how to know who is speaking to you.
