FOCUS ON JESUS: AND NOT ON THINGS

FOCUS ON JESUS: AND NOT ON THINGS

“Then came to him the mother of Zebedee’s children with her sons, worshipping him, and desiring a certain thing of him.” Matthew 20:20 (KJV)

Why do you worship God? There is a need to realize, even at this time, that you must have the right motivation so that you can be in the company of those that will recover everything they have lost and possess their possession. Too many people are worshipping God with the wrong motive. If you want to be elevated and share in His glory in these last days, then you need to position yourself rightly.

The mother of Zebedee’s children with her sons came worshipping and desiring a certain thing from Jesus. She came seeking from Jesus that her sons will sit at His right hand and left hand. She worshipped because she wanted her sons to have prominence and influence. She did not come for who He was.

The scriptures tell us in the book of John 6:25-27: “And when they had found him on the other side of the sea, they said unto him, Rabbi, when camest thou hither? Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled. Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life…”(John 6:24-27 KJV)

Don’t labor or pursue those things that are perishable. Is Jesus saying that meat is wrong? No. He said that should not be your focus. We are talking about prioritizing your life. Labour for things that have eternal significance. When your intimacy and connection with God are strong, every other thing will fall into place.
