FIND TIME TO SIT AT HIS FEET
“But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:42 (KJV)
Yesterday, we saw that the best place to sit is at His feet. I know some of you may have mentally accented to it, but deep within yourself, you are convinced that it is not possible. Today I want to encourage you to always find time to sit at the Master’s feet. Beloved, these are not the days to be careless about how you live your life. Otherwise, the enemy will pluck out your eyes. There is so much happening in the society today, and all of these are the enemy’s tricks to keep you from sitting. If he can keep you from sitting down to receive from God then he has got you because it is only from God that you receive hope, faith, strength, and courage for everyday living.
Everything is fast-paced today. We wake up and leave for work early and return late; some people even run two or three shifts, all in a bid to make ends meet. The weekends are not left out. They are just as busy. Some of the people are burdened with work, classes, children, family, and the list goes on. However, in the midst of all this, you must find time to sit at His feet. There is absolutely no substitute for this because the Bible says that in Him we live, move and have our being. Which means; outside Him we are non-existent. Thank God for technology, now we have various resources, the devotional app, the Bible app, podcasts and mp3s. All at the touch of a button, so you really have no excuse. Remember what He told Martha, “you are troubled about too many things, but one thing is needful”.
God has all the answers you would ever need. Therefore, take a quality decision to sit at His feet. Every aspect of the service is important. You will never know when He will meet you. Don’t put God in a straight jacket. Martha probably did. According to her, food should have been served first before every other thing, but Jesus thought otherwise. He is the sovereign God!
