FEAR OF GOD

“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” Proverbs 1:7 (KJV)

One of our cardinal points as a Church is the fear of God. Now not fear as running away that He may harm you, rather it is reverence for Him, you acknowledge Him for who He is and joyfully follow Him. That is the fear that God demands from us.

Many believers do not understand the fear of God. We are quick to relate fear to punishment and some people even have the image of a huge bearded guy with a big stick to ready to unleash His anger on you. No. God is loving. He loves you just for who you are. Even when you miss it, He has prepared for your redemption.

The fear of God is a must for the believer. You must be able to reverence God and celebrate His presence in your life. You should be able to talk to Him as a Father and Friend because that is who He is. In fearing God is not the sonorous voice that announces judgement; rather is in the whisper that leads you to salvation.

Wherever you go today, practice listening to the voice of God and obeying it and see your life become the example of a believer in words, thoughts and actions. When you walk in the fear of God, the wisdom of God is available. Then, you can speak the mind of God and give direction to your world. Then you’ll stand out and men will seek you out because of the wisdom of God in you.

The fear of God is not negotiable. It does not just fall like a bag of cherries, it is birthed in the place of fellowship with God. When you walk in the fear of God, you grow in grace and you are the blessing that your world is waiting for.

DAILY CONFESSION

The law of my God is perfect, converting my soul; His testimony is sure, making me wise; His statutes are right, making my heart to rejoice; His commandments are pure, enlightening my eyes. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight O Lord my strength and my Redeemer. (Psalm 19:7-8, Psalm 19:14)

The Lord God is my Sun and Shield, He gives me grace and glory, no good thing will He withhold from me because I walk uprightly. I am blessed because I trust in the Lord. I am of God and I have overcome the devil for greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world (Ps. 11-12, 1 John 4:4)

The Lord is my portion and my inheritance. The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places yea I have a goodly heritage. The Lord girds me with strength and makes my way perfect. (Psalm 16:5-6, Psalm 18:32).

Every day and in every way, I am getting better: spiritually, physically, financially, mentally, morally, and in all my endeavours.

I am called for a purpose. I will fulfil this purpose and I will arrive at God’s ordained destiny for my life. Nothing will cut me short. I will make a formidable impact in my world for the Kingdom.

It is my week of All Grace!
