EVERYONE NEEDS THE SAVIOUR

EVERYONE NEEDS THE SAVIOUR

“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:” (Romans 5:12 KJV)

In Genesis 3, Adam disappointed God. He committed what can be described as high treason. He received clear instructions on what to and what not to eat, yet he went ahead and disobeyed God. The issue here is not about what he ate. The issue is about his disobedience and the consequence of that. The mandate was lost when Adam fell. And Adam is the representative of every man born on the face of this earth. When Adam fell, he died. Death is not just when you cease to breathe. When you are separated from God, you are dead. So, everyone who does not have Christ inside him is dead. If you do not receive Christ before you cease breathing, you will end up in hell.

Everyone born on the face of this earth is born dead, because we all took on the nature of Adam. Genesis 5:3 says, “And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth.” I want you to notice something. At this time, Adam had already fallen and had been separated from God. Adam had a son, not in the likeness of God but in the likeness of Adam, and after Adam’s image. He called his name Seth. So, everyone was born in the likeness of Adam.

In the book of John 8:44, Jesus said to the religious people around him: “…. Ye are of your father the devil, and the works of your father shall you do.” (KJV). In other words, any person who is not a believer in Christ has the devil as a father. That is why everyone born into this world needs a Saviour to become a child of God. Hence, Jesus came to save the world from sin.
