EVEN IF IT LOOKS FOOLISH, DO IT

EVEN IF IT LOOKS FOOLISH, DO IT

“His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it” John 2: 5 (KJV)
So many people have robbed themselves of God’s supernatural intervention in their lives
because what they are supposed to do, often defies all logic. You must understand that His
thoughts are not our thoughts, and His ways are higher than our ways (Isaiah 55:8).

In our text for today, it was obvious that Mary, the mother of Jesus, knew her Son like no other
and that He was not an ordinary man. She knew her Son had the capacity to do what no
ordinary man could do. Any wonder she told those servants “Whatsoever He saith unto you, do
it”. Whatsoever He saith to you, whether it is convenient or not, whether it makes sense or
not, JUST DO IT.

Notice that He instructed them to fill the water pots with water and to take it to the governor
of the feast (John 2:6-8). This instruction does not make sense at all. However, the instruction
was very clear. Do WHATEVER you are told. They got a miracle because they did it.
A miracle will not fall on you like a bag of cherries until you follow to the latter what Jesus told
you to do. The foolishness of God is always wiser than the wisdom of men and the weakness of
God is stronger than men (1 Cor. 1:25). Get up and do whatever He tells you to do and receive
your miracle. It may not make sense, but it makes faith and God always honours His word.

We see the same principle when He raised Lazarus from the dead. When He told them to roll
away the stone, it did not make sense because ordinarily, decomposition should have set in and
the body should be smelly by now, that was the argument of the sister in John 11:39 when
Martha said “…Lord by this time he stinketh, for he hath been dead four days”. But thank God
they obeyed and Lazarus who had been dead four days returned to life. Beloved, don’t judge by
your five senses, trust God, and obey totally.
