DON’T PUT YOUR HAND INTO EVIL
“And Joseph gathered up all the money that was found in the land of Egypt, and in the land of Canaan, for the corn which they bought: and Joseph brought the money into Pharaoh’s house.” Genesis 47:14 (KJV)
Are you trustworthy? Joseph proved himself trustworthy. You see, we ought to be positioned in such a way that people cannot do without us. If you are a Christian and cannot be entrusted with money, something is fundamentally wrong. You will be shocked to know how many church members are stealing. Potiphar did not know what he had except what Joseph told him. Yet he never touched a penny! Can we find such today?
According to the scriptures, Joseph was solely in charge of food distribution during the famine in Egypt. But Joseph didn’t pocket the money. He brought all the money into Pharaoh’s house. All the money! He did not divert some.
“And Joseph bought all the land of Egypt for Pharaoh; for the Egyptians sold every man his field, because the famine prevailed over them: so the land became Pharaoh. And as for the people, he removed them to cities from one end of the borders of Egypt even to the other end thereof.” (Genesis 47:20-21 KJV).
Joseph kept on proffering solutions to all problems. He did not take advantage of the problems to divert the resources. He did not sign documents of Pharaoh’s lands to himself. Pharaoh did not go there to sign. Every signature was his own. Joseph could have signed for his own and then quoted the scripture: “Thou shalt not muzzle the ox when he treadeth out the corn.”(Deuteronomy 25:4 KJV)
If you want scripture for everything, it is there. The bottom line is: what is your heart saying? You cannot be comfortable putting your hand into evil unless your heart is seared with hot iron.
