DON’T PUT YOUR FAITH IN THE WISDOM OF MEN

‘That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.”
(1 Corinthians 2:5 KJV)

Recalling how the Church in Corinth started, Paul said he did not preach with the enticing words of man’s wisdom because the best of man is still man. Whatever is of man still has margin for failure. Who would have believed that the global oil price will crash like it did in 2016? Economies that depended on oil witnessed one of their most challenging years, with oil companies laying off workers. The same thing happened in the banking inductry. No sector has been spared from the shaking going on. Everything that can be shaken is really shaking. 

The question is who are you depending on? The word of God declares that your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men but in the power of God because the wisdom of man fails. Therefore, you can’t depend on man’s wisdom. It has margin for failure. Some have travelled abroad and said the medical care is better abroad. But we have seen people who died, in spite of the better medical care and excellent diagnosis abroad. Who are you building your life on? Who? The best of man is still vanity. “The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the Lord.” (Proverbs 21:31 KJV) Let not your faith stand in the wisdom of men but in the power of God. 

The bible tells us in Luke chapter 5 that Simon Peter toiled all night and caught nothing. You know what? Your toiling continues, until you learn to take God with you. Many believers today are involved in what they are involved in and God is not there. And when the opportunity comes for them to be equipped, to become a good McCoy of some sort, they trivialize it.  Beloved the news media will not equip you. It is the word of God that will equip you. “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (Romans 10:17 KJV) These are the days of the elects. They are going to look for you. They will speak concerning you in high places. No matter how tough it is, you will never be stranded.
