DON’T BRIDGE THE PROCESS
“Now the Lord has said unto Abram, get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and
from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee.” Genesis 12:1 (KJV)
God came to Abram one day and called him out. He was 75 years old, and God was starting a
new thing with him. God had a great plan for Abraham, but he had to go through a process
where he had to trust God completely. He must go through the process to qualify as the father
of nations.
If you read the account of Abraham in Genesis 15 & 16, you will notice that he came to a
point where doubt set in. The scripture tells us that even Sarah organised a maid for him, and
he went into her, but that was not God’s plan. Sometimes, because you are not ready for the
process, you want to have a plan B and abort what God planned. You will be surprised how
many people have aborted what God purposed for them.
After Ishmael was born, God withheld speaking to Abraham for many years. But in Genesis
17:1, the bible says, “And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the Lord appeared to
Abram and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me and be thou perfect.” In
other words, Abraham, stop vacillating between two opinions. Rest in Me and let Me perfect
what I have purposed concerning you. I will make My covenant with thee and will multiply
thee exceedingly. I have not changed My mind. I know what I have purposed before you were
born. I am your shield and your exceeding great reward. Abraham had to rest in God, and in
Genesis 21:1-2, the Bible says; “God visited Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did unto
Sarah as he had spoken. For Sarah conceived and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the
set time of which God has spoken to him.” Beloved, you don’t need to help God. He is able
to perfect what He started.
