DEALING WITH SPIRITUAL BLINDNESS

DEALING WITH SPIRITUAL BLINDNESS

“The entrance of thy words giveth light; It giveth understanding unto the simple.” Psalm 119:130 (KJV)

Amid the chaos, confusion, hopelessness, and depression in the world today, we need clarity. This is vitally important! In all our endeavours, we need clarity. The Bible says in the book of Isaiah 42:18-22: “Hear, ye deaf, and look, ye blind, that ye may see. Who is blind, but my servant? or deaf, as my messenger that I sent? who is blind as he that is perfect, and blind as the LORD’s servant? Seeing many things, but thou observest not; opening the ears, but he heareth not. The LORD is well pleased for his righteousness sake; he will magnify the law and make it honourable. But this is a people robbed and spoiled; they are all of them snared in holes, and they are hid in prison houses: they are for a prey, and none delivereth; for a spoil, and none saith, Restore.”

The scriptures above describe vividly what happens when you experience spiritual blindness. When you experience spiritual blindness, you remain in darkness, you remain in bondage and you remain in difficulty. And then you will not even desire restoration. So, spiritual blindness is a very terrible thing.

God sent Paul with a mandate to deliver people from spiritual blindness. “… now I send thee, to open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.” (Acts 26:17-18 KJV)

The message of the gospel is what delivers people from Spiritual blindness. Your eyes of understanding are enlightened when you open your hearts to the light of the gospel. The word has the capacity to turn people from darkness to light. As long as people remain in darkness, they will be under the power of Satan. If their spiritual eyes are not opened, they will remain under the power of Satan and they will not receive forgiveness of sins, and then the inheritance that has been made available to them will not be available. As a believer, you cannot afford to be spiritually blind.
