CONTINUE IN THE SCRIPTURES
Comments
“But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;” 2 Timothy 3:13-14 KJV
Paul tells Timothy in the book of 2 Timothy 3:10-11: “But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience, Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me”(KJV). Whatever you encounter in the journey of life, the Lord will deliver you.
Then Paul goes further to say: “But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived”. So, you see, evil will not stop as we climax the age. It is not stopping. However, the key to overcoming is to continue in the Word. There is an assurance that the Word will never fail. The Word of God can make you wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
The key to living consistency above sin is the scriptures! The way of survival is scriptures! The way to overcome is the scriptures! The way to do warfare is the scriptures! You have a guarantee of victory in the scriptures. So, welcome the warfare! You are already engaged in warfare. You already involved.
Paul writes to the church at Ephesus, one of the wealthiest and strongest churches in the Bible times. The epistle says: “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” (Ephesians 6:10-12 KJV)
According to Paul, you must be strong in the Lord. Not in your ability, in your expertise or your connection. Your strength should come from the Lord. That is why you must continue in the Word of God.
