CONNECT TO GODLY WISDOM

CONNECT TO GODLY WISDOM

Dearly beloved, I bring you greetings in the name that is above every name, Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God and our soon coming King. Thank God for His loving kindness and tender mercies. This morning, I want to implore you to connect to Godly wisdom. If there was ever a time we needed the wisdom of God, it is now.

Let’s look at the scriptures:

1 Corinthians 2: 6-7 (NKJV)

“However, we speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory”

Beloved, it is an established truth that the world today is in a cup of trembling, with many not being able to fathom present-day happenings, or fashion out solutions to the compelling challenges of this age. However, this should not be surprising to any believer, because like the Bible rightly says, all the kingdoms of this world shall be shaken. It is only God’s kingdom that is unshakable, and you and I belong to that kingdom (Heb. 12:28). Halleluyah!

From our scripture today, Apostle Paul writes with this same understanding, by his acknowledgement of the truth that the rulers of this age are “coming to nothing”, literally. I like how the Message translation puts it – “…but it’s not popular wisdom, the fashionable wisdom of high-priced experts that will be out-of-date in a year or so.” This is the reason why our conduct, communication, thoughts, beliefs, or actions as believers, cannot be founded upon such wisdom that is fading away. Rather, our lives should be hinged on the wisdom of God, outside which we are limited, and are no different from the rest. But Apostle Paul speaks concerning the wisdom of God as “in a mystery”, so what did he mean? You might think it to mean that the wisdom of God is mysterious, or difficult to understand, but beyond these definitions, Paul was writing that the wisdom of God is a truth, concealed in the mind of God, which remains hidden, until He chooses to reveal it. In the context of this chapter of scripture, God had predetermined our redemption before the foundation of the world, but this would have remained unknown and concealed, had He not revealed it in Christ Jesus.

Child of God, if there is one thing you must understand, it is that the wisdom of God has been ordained for your glory. As a covenant child of God, it is His desire that you always stand out from the crowd, when you operate in His wisdom. Daniel understood this, reason why in Daniel 2:15, he marvelled at the urgency of king Nebuchadnezzar’s decree to kill all the wise men of the land, when the astrologers and magicians had difficulty with revealing and interpreting his dream.

Reading through the account in Daniel 2, it is clear that unlike the astrologers, magicians and Chaldeans who had no answer, and had no place to turn to for solution (Daniel 2:10-11), Daniel knew differently. He knew he had a God who reveals deep and secret things. The book of Daniel 11:32b (KJV) says, “…but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.” Daniel had confidence in God, and he approached the situation from that standpoint.

Beloved, the last time I shared on this topic of godly wisdom, I emphasized on the importance of having a relationship with the Father. If you truly must leverage on this wisdom which has been ordained for your glory, then you must be connected to the Father, who is the source of all knowledge and wisdom. Prov. 2:7 (NKJV) addresses this clearly; “He stores up sound wisdom for the upright…” Question, who is the upright? The one who is in relationship with, and has right standing with the Father.

Daniel had the boldness and confidence to go to God when confronted with that difficult situation, because of the relationship he had developed. Beloved, what is condition of your relationship with your Father? What is the quality of your prayer life? As believers, we have the gift of the Holy Spirit, evidenced by speaking in tongues, but how many of us take advantage of this? God reveals incredible things in righteousness when we pray in tongues, but some of us don’t know it. Unfortunately, some of us think of God as a spare tyre, but it is to your detriment. For Daniel, the rest is history, God revealed the king’s dream and its interpretation to him, and he blessed the God of heaven (Daniel 2:20-23).

Beloved, you are called to be the lighthouse wherever you find yourself. In your office, you should be indispensable, by reason of the wisdom of God that is revealed through you. However, you must take your relationship with God seriously. Any wonder why Daniel served in the Babylonian kingdom for over 60 years, and under 4 different kings; he operated on the superior platform of godly wisdom and was distinguished. I pray that the wisdom of God will make you a solution provider to your world.

Metathesis Conference starts this Wednesday August 22. This is another opportunity to connect to Godly wisdom. I want to encourage everyone, both young and older, to be in attendance; you will be richly blessed.

Maranatha!

In His Royal Service
