CHURCH IS A FAMILY

“And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbor as thyself”. Luke 10:27 (KJV)

Jesus was trying to tell the lawyer who came to question him that he should enlarge his circle of influence and not be myopic. Don’t be myopic, the world has moved on! Stop behaving like an ancient man in this 21st century. Information is everywhere! The world has become a global village.

Sometimes, God’s blessing comes from unlikely places. For Moses who was about to be drowned in the water, it was Pharaoh’s daughter. It was Pharaoh’s daughter from the enemy’s camp that preserved him. For Joseph and his family, his blessing and preservation were in Egypt. For Hagar, it was Sarah who she was running away from that God instructed her to return to. “And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Return to thy mistress, and submit thyself under her hands.” (Genesis‬

In the case of Naaman, it was a little maid who was a captive in his house. And when he finally got to Israel he was told to go and wash in the Jordan river. Jordan was dirty, but that was where he must wash because God uses the foolish things of this world to confound the wise.

Every time we gather for church service, we are gathering as a community and as a family. You will only have problems when you don’t see it as a community or a family. When you start selecting whom you relate with and whom you won’t relate with, that is when you will have challenges. We are all members of one family and God has planted us uniquely into that local assembly.

If you are praying for a blessing and your blessing is with the one you don’t relate with, what will happen thereafter? Your blessings will be delayed, and you will garage yourself. Let’s love freely. Don’t set barriers that will hinder your blessings.
