CHOOSE TO BELIEVE GOD

CHOOSE TO BELIEVE GOD

(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed,
even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they
were.Romans 4:17 (KJV)

God appeared unto Abraham after he refused that booty from the king of Sodom (Genesis
15:1). He demonstrated His trust and love for God. He was not ready to do anything outside
the will of God. He showed his commitment to God. God now said to Abraham: “………I am
thy shield and thy exceeding great reward.” (Genesis 15:1). In other words, God was saying
to Abraham if you have me, you have everything. At this time, Abraham and His wife were
getting old. But what did Abraham do to please God? He simply believed the promise of God
that he was going to be a father of many nations, and he spoke and acted like it.

Beloved, how deep is your belief in God? How strong is your faith in Him? How well is your
trust and dependency on God Almighty? Is there an alternative to your God? Do you see Him
as a spare tyre? Is He someone you can call upon only when you are in trouble? Do you call
on Him when you need Him and discard Him when things are alright?

Beloved, God is not your spare tyre. You must depend on Him absolutely. You must give
your heart wholly to Him. You must not have an alternative to Him. He must be your one and
only authority. Hebrews 11:6 tells us that God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek
Him. Don’t seek God occasionally, seek Him continually.

You will be surprised to know how people come to church, high-five one another, sing, shout,
lift holy hands in worship and walk away not pleasing God. It doesn't mean they are not
children of God, but they are not pleasing God. It is not everyone who goes to church that is a
friend of God. But you can choose to be one today by believing and obeying His word
always.
