BEWARE OF SATAN’S CRAFTINESS
“And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat”. Genesis 3:6 (KJV)
From creation, Adam and Eve were already made in the image of God. When Satan came to twist what God said concerning them, the woman listened to the devil. The book of Genesis 3:6 says, “And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food and that it was pleasant to the eyes…” Initially, she did not see. She only saw it because she engaged the devil. She had been eating every other thing until the devil came. Satan is very subtle and uses the same subtlety today to speak to many people. Unfortunately, many are listening to him.
How do you know it is the devil speaking? Whenever you hear anything contrary to the word of God, that is the devil speaking. Dismiss it immediately as Jesus did with: “It is written.” He can suggest that just attending the event in an uncomfortable location (you know what I am saying) is not a big deal; it will not harm you. After all, when you go there, your light will shine; when the bible has clearly told you to abstain from all appearances of evil.
There is really nothing wrong; after all, the Bible does not say you should not drink alcohol; it just says that you shouldn’t get drunk. Just take a little sip. You forget that no one starts by getting drunk; it starts with a sip.
You often hear: ‘How can you be in this environment and not flow along?’ I call it situational ethics. You join them because you don’t want to look bad. Think of it! Situational ethics! Nothing is wrong! Just hang around that lady; it is only fellowship. Before you know it, you are committing sin. And then you are asking, how did I get there? Satan is very subtle. He will just throw in a little suggestion. Something that you were hitherto not involved in; you just find yourself doing it. Please abstain from every appearance of evil. Give the devil no place.
