BELIEVE THE WORD
“… Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.” 2 Chronicles 20:20 (KJV)
There is so much coming your way this year and I need to encourage you to believe the word of God. Read through the Bible, there has never been a time God asked us to reason out His word, the command is simple: Believe.
When they ran out of wine of at the wedding, Mary the mother of Jesus went to Him. Even though He made no promise, his mother was wise enough to leave a word with His disciples. She said “whatever He says to you, do it”. Thank God the disciples took heed to the counsel, otherwise we would not have had the miracle of Jesus turning water into wine. The miracle hinged on simple obedience. What I am saying to you today is this: don’t reason out the word, simply believe.
Belief without action does not bring any result. If you must believe the word, then you must be ready to act on it. Don’t tell me you believe, yet do nothing. The blessings of God will not fall on you like a bag of cherries, you have a part to play and you must be seen to play it.
Jesus told the disciples to fill the pots with water; that is the most unrealistic thing to do. If it was today, some believers would have reminded Jesus that they were not in need to water to have a bath, but not the disciples. Do not forget that at this time He had performed no miracle, so there was no precedence to follow, yet they believed and the rest is history. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. He is still in the business of making possibilities out of seemingly impossible situations, but only when you believe and act on the word.
