BE SENSITIVE TO GOD
Comments
“The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.” John 1:29 (KJV)
It is very important that your eyes are opened and focused on God so that you can recover everything the devil took from you. The truth is that, if you are not focused, even when God shows up in your bedroom, you will still be struggling with it. The Bible tells us in Psalm 103:7 that God “…. made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel”.(KJV) In spite of being in church for a long time, many believers don’t know the ways of God.
When Jesus came in the flesh, he was like every other human being in that neighbourhood. He came to where John was ministering and stood there among those who John was to baptize like every other person. I am sure that some people must have even elbowed him and pushed him aside to get to the front. Even John did not know who he was. But as he was baptizing, I guess that he lifted up his eyes to clean out the sweat from his brow and he looked, and something caught his attention. This is because he had been told that on who you see the dove descending; that is the man. As he raised up his head among the crowd right there, he pointed: behold the lamb of God that taketh away the sins of the world.
If you are going to be at the cutting edge in life, you must be very sensitive to what God is saying at every point in time. Many of us have missed it just because we lost sight of the ways of God. Many have missed their moments of visitation because they were not sensitive to what God is saying.
Pointing out Jesus as the lamb of God was the defining moment in the ministry of John the Baptist. He was not carried away by the crowd who were all there because of him and not Jesus. He kept faith with the Word.
