BE BOLD AND COURAGEOUS

BE BOLD AND COURAGEOUS

“Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.” Joshua 1:6 (KJV)

God said to Joshua, “my servant Moses is dead and I want you to arise and go over this Jordan.” God kept on saying something very vital: “Be courageous.”  He said there are things that will intimidate and frighten you but you must be courageous.  It takes boldness to build a place where people said it cannot be built. For you to be bold, you must know where your boldness is derived from; it’s from God’s presence.

In Acts Chapter 4, the disciples requested for boldness to be able to speak the Word. There can be no signs and wonders if we don’t speak the Word of God. That is why Paul requested prayers on his behalf for utterance to be given him so that he may open his mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel (Ephesians 6:19).

One of the things Adam lost through the fall was his boldness because he started running away from God.  When God came to fellowship with him, he enjoyed the presence of God but this time around, he ran. “And the LORD called unto Adam, and said unto him, where art thou? And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself” (Genesis 3:9-10 KJV). Adam was afraid because he lost his boldness.  But thank God that despite that, our boldness has been restored through Christ. In Christ we have been designed to function in boldness. According to the scriptures: “…The righteous are bold as a lion” (Proverbs 28:1 KJV). In Christ, every believer has been made righteous. No more room for fear, timidity and intimidation.

You must possess this understanding because in spiritual battle, understanding is very critical. As a believer, you can only be delivered through knowledge. “An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered” (Proverbs 11:9 KJV).
