APPRECIATE THE GRACE OF GOD

APPRECIATE THE GRACE OF GOD

“And there were some that had indignation within themselves, and said, Why was this waste of the ointment made? For it might have been sold for more than three hundred pence, and have been given to the poor. And they murmured against her. And Jesus said, Let her alone; why trouble ye her? she hath wrought a good work on me”. Mark 14:4-6 KJV

When you truly understand the grace of God, sacrifice becomes a normal response. It is absolutely impossible for you to truly appreciate the grace of God on your behalf and still hold back. Concerning the woman with the alabaster box, Jesus told them to let her be because sacrifice is a good work (Mark 14:8).

Do what you can and do it at the right time. What was the woman looking at when she broke the alabaster box of ointment? What was her motivation? She appreciated the grace of God! In Luke 7:47, Jesus established a principle: When you realize how much you have been forgiven, you will love Him more and show it in your actions. When you appreciate Him less, it will also show in your attitude and your relationship towards Him. Your sacrifices are going to be so little! That is how it is!

When you appreciate what God has done for you, there would be no need for anyone to drag you; service will become a joy. When you remember that you were lost until He found you, sacrifice will become a normal response. We must never forget that we are who we are by the grace of God. Don’t allow the Pharisees in church to derail you. Don’t be surprised that there are Pharisees in church who will try to discourage you from offering your sacrifice to God.

Like a memorial, your sacrifices will always speak on your behalf. “…Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, this also that she hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her” (Mark 14:9 KJV).
