ALWAYS RELATE WITH GOD AS YOUR DADDY

ALWAYS RELATE WITH GOD AS YOUR DADDY

“And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of His Son in your hearts, crying, Abba Father. Wherefore, thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.”

Galatians 4:6-7 (KJV)

Before Christ came, those who related to God were called servants of God and not children of God. However, the identity changed when we became a new creation as a result of the finished work of Christ. “If any man is in Christ, he is a new creation.” Those in the Old Testament were under bondage. Their relationship with God was majorly out of fear. They thought God could visit them with sickness because of an offence committed against Him. That was the way they related with Him.

But in the new creation, the Bible says, “We have not received the Spirit of bondage again to fear, but we have received the Spirit of adoption.” The spirit of adoption means the spirit of sonship. What we have received is the spirit of sonship which causes us to say ABBA FATHER.

Unfortunately, the translators deliberately refused to translate the word “Abba” there. That is why the full import is not fully understood. When you go to a Jewish home, you will see the children calling their father Abba. That is Daddy! When you call him Abba, meaning Daddy, you invoke His deep emotions on your behalf. Can you imagine what will happen when your son or your daughter calls you in the middle of the night? You can even run out of your bedroom naked because you want to know what has happened to your child. The name Daddy cuts through your heart and you are willing to flex your muscles and ensure that your child is safe. That is exactly what happens when you know that God is your Daddy.

Beloved, God is always there for you. He will never leave you nor forsake you. No matter what you are facing right now, God is bringing you out because He is your Daddy.
