ACT ON THE WORD
“But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.” James 1:25 (KJV)
Beloved, it is one thing to read the word, meditate on it, internalise and speak it, but it is quite another to act on the word. For you to act on the word, you must study, believe and meditate on the word, but the circle is not complete if you do not act on what you have read or heard; the word will not profit you.
Thank God for the numerous services that hold across the continents of the world, but if that is where the word ends, then we cannot expect to see the revival that God has promised us. When the Lord gives you a word, you must break it down to actionable points so that you can measure performance, evaluate yourself and adjust where the need arises. Do not wait for the end of the year to review what you have done with the word that God gave to you.
Take a notebook and keep it with you when you are studying. As the Lord opens your eyes to something in the scripture, write it down, if it is something you can do, stop and ask yourself, how can I achieve this? Write down the things that come to your mind, then sit down and sift through them and rearrange them into things you can do right away, things you need to work on and things you need to seek counsel on.
This Bible study notebook or jotter is very important, it will help you in your journey of faith and be consistent not only in writing, but also in reading that which the Lord has committed into your hands. Be determined to be a doer of the word for only the doer is blessed in his deeds.
