PARTAKERS OF HIS DIVINE NATURE
2 Peter 1:4 (NKJV)
“by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”
Dearly beloved, I bring you greetings in the name that is above every other name Jesus Christ the Son of the Living God and our soon coming King. Thank God for His keeping grace all through the past week, our God is a good God. As we draw closer to October, our month of fasting in the world of TREM, I have come to remind you that as a Child of God, it is your heritage to partake of God’s divine nature. Our text above, tells us very clearly that the promises of God give us access into His divine nature. Therefore, we must fill our hearts with the promises of God, so we can live as gods on this earth – Psalms 82:6
The dictionary defines a promise as a word of honor, vow, commitment, pledge, assurance; therefore the promises of God are His commitments to us. It is information on what God has already perfected. Through His promises, we know and are assured of the victory that God has already ordained for our lives. We have this assurance because God cannot lie. He tells us in Numbers 23:19 (KJV) that “God is not a man that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent; hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?” Also Hebrews 6:13 (NKJV) says “For when God made a promise to Abraham, because He could swear by no one greater, He swore Himself,”.
Beloved, God attaches a great deal of importance to His Word, He does not pull punches, He says what He means and He means what He says. All that we are expected to do is to lay hold on them, and keep standing until we see the promise fulfilled.
What happens to most of us is that we give up too easily. We stand for a little bit, and when things don’t seem to go like we expect, we conclude that it is not working, maybe God didn’t really mean what He said. Child of God, settle this in your heart once and for all, GOD CANNOT LIE! It is not in His character to do so; every promise He has made is guaranteed by Christ’s eternal sacrifice on the cross, which cannot be violated. Hebrews 6:15 (NKJV) tells us about Abraham saying “And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.”
When you have an understanding of who this God is, and you have the promise of God concerning a particular area, it changes everything. You will stop worrying and go to bed. Thats why David declared boldly in Psalms 23 that “though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil because You are with me.” The promises of God gives you boldness, confidence, holy audacity to stare situations in the face, and declare boldly, that this too, shall pass.
As a partaker of His divine nature, sickness is not permitted, disease is not permitted, lack is not permitted, confusion is not permitted; anything that cannot be found in God, should not be found in you. However, in order partake, you must know what is written, you must know what the bible says. This is why we keep emphasizing on the importance of studying the Word of God, because it’s the only thing that can never fail.
As we approach the fast, what areas do you desire to see a transformation? The theme of the fast is Recovery, and so it does not matter what the enemy has stolen from you, it is your time to recover all. I will encourage you to sit down, search out the scriptures that pertain to your area of need and write them down, begin to meditate on them, pray these scriptures, declare them, become one with them, because they must surely come to pass. 2 Peter 3:9 tells us that “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise…” there shall be a manifestation of every promise.
I declare that nothing will limit you; on a daily basis, you will live out your divine nature. I bless you!
Maranatha!
Yours in His Royal Service
