LET GOD BE GOD

“So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out”. (2 Kings 4:5 KJV)

The bible says the widow of a deceased prophet who died poor came to Elisha and began to tell him the problem she was facing. She said they want to take her two children and put them in bondage. And Elisha said to her, woman, what do you have in your house? And the woman said to him, I don’t have anything. Elisha said to her, if you don’t have anything, then I can’t help you. The woman then said, oh now I remember, I have a pot of oil. The prophet said, that is exactly what we need. Let’s begin from where you are to where you want to go. So the prophet of God said to her, go to your neighbours and knock at their doors and ask them for empty vessels of oil. Borrow those vessels.

Ah! I told you I am in debt and you say I should add more debt? You know that is how we reason and as a result, we forfeit our miracles. I just told you I am owing and you said I should increase it. I have my brains and I am smart enough. But God uses the foolish things of this world to confound the wise and prudent. If you know how it can be done, you don’t need God. If you know how all your situations can be solved, you don’t need God.

The woman had a problem and she came to the man of God. The man of God, looking into the spirit realm, told her what to do. The choice was hers if she must come out of debt. I love what she did. She went and borrowed as she was instructed. And after she has done all that, she came in as instructed with all her sons and shut the door to every doubt and every negative suggestion. She shut the door and started to pour in. This looks stupid and foolish. Woman you have only one pot of oil but you have borrowed plenty. How do you think you can fill them all? She didn’t have enough sense to begin to think like that.

Beloved, when  it comes to God, throw away your thought and let God be God.

Daily Confession

He has assured me that when I ask He will give to me; when I seek, I will find. And when I knock, He will open the door. Thus I ask, seek, and knock and do so with the confident assurance that He hears and grants every petition I make.

I have overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of my testimony; therefore no weapon fashioned against me shall prosper and every tongue that shall rise against me in judgement I condemn.

I do follow the Good Shepherd and I know His voice. The voice of a stranger I will not follow.

I am a doer of the word of God and am blessed in my deeds. I am happy in the things that I do because I am a doer of the word of God.

Every day and in every way I am getting better: spiritually, physically, financially, mentally, morally, and in all my endeavours.

I am called for a purpose. I will fulfill this purpose and I will arrive at God’s ordained destiny for my life. Nothing will cut me short. I will make a formidable impact in my world for the Kingdom.

It is my week of New Things!
