EFFORT ALONE IS NOT ENOUGH

EFFORT ALONE IS NOT ENOUGH

“He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength
shall no man prevail” 1 Samuel 2:9.

In Matthew 14 Jesus said to Peter, come and walk on the water. The storm was ragging and everything was against them but Jesus said Peter, you can only survive if you come. And he stepped out walking on the same sea which was a problem to him because he obeyed by faith. In the book of Luke 5, Peter toiled all night and caught nothing because except the Lord build a house the builders build in vain and except the Lord watches over a city, the watchman waketh but in vain. In vain they wake up early and sit up late and eat the bread of sorrow. The race is not to the swift, the battle is not for the strong. Bread is not for the wise, riches are not for men of understanding. O yes, favour is not for people of skill but time and chance happen to them all. The mighty are fallen, arms of the flesh are failing. As good as they are, your efforts will fail. I am not saying you should be lazy but if that is all you are depending on then you have failed.

Peter was big in the fishing business but the bible says he toiled through the night and caught nothing. When you read the scripture try to put yourself in the picture. He was tired, discouraged, confused and could not explain what was going on. And here comes Jesus and said who owns this boat? And they said, Peter and he said thrust it a little further. It was not an accident that God zeroed in on him. Anytime God zeroes in on you, count it a privilege. He was not the only fisherman in that place but destiny was calling on him. Thank God he never allowed his tiredness to get the better of him. Rather he obeyed and yielded his boat, his time and his energy and destiny unfolded in his life. May you never miss destiny. Today I see destiny being fulfilled in your life in Jesus name. I will hear your testimony.
