BE ROOTED IN HIM
“Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV)
The Bible says in Colossians 2:6-7, “As you have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him; and established in the faith, as ye have been taught; abounding therein with thanksgiving.” Apostle Paul went on in verses 8-10 to say: “Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men; after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. And you are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power”. What a joy it is to know that I am rooted in Christ. For in Him we live, move and have our being (Acts 17:28).
The book of 2 Corinthians 5:17 is so rich, robust and powerful that you can’t explore it all. One thing that you must understand in this walk with Jesus, is that He finished the work knowing your weaknesses and inadequacies. He completed it all. As such, no one else qualifies to be the message other than Jesus! He alone is the message, and we have been sent to reveal Him to the world. He is the healer. He is the deliverer. He is the one that sets free. When you preach the Bible, which is the Truth, you should unveil Jesus because He is the one that saves. We couldn’t save ourselves because we were weak in sin.
Jesus spoilt principalities and powers, made a show of them openly and triumphed over them. So how do we benefit? When I receive Christ, the Father puts me in Him. So, His victory becomes my victory. His breakthrough becomes my breakthrough. His miracles become my miracles. So, there is no way I can lose. Since I am in him, He nourishes your life. These are the benefits of being rooted and established in Him. You live the “in-Christed” life; the quality of life that God has ordained for every believer. It is a life devoid of failure, defeat, pain or any evil. Remain rooted in Him.
