DON’T YIELD TO SIN

DON’T YIELD TO SIN

“Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?” Romans 6:16 KJV
According to Matthew 24:12: “And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.” (KJV). When you are deliberately living in sin, your love for God will grow cold.
The problem is that people don’t understand that the love of God is meant to drive them to God. If you don’t understand that the purpose of His love is to drive you to Him, you will take His love for granted.
God’s Word encourages us not to yield to sin. “Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God”. (Romans 6:13 KJV)
The word ‘yield’ as used in our scriptural text means to aid, to assist, to commend, to present, to show or stand by. So, the Word of God tells you: Don’t yield. When you yield to sin, you are standing with sin. Then what will happen? Death will be the result. Death is not only the cessation of breathing. The thief cometh not but to steal, to kill and to destroy. So, what the devil will offer you for living a lifestyle of sin is death. Every time you decide to sin, something dies around you.
According to the Word of God:  “The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law”. (1 Corinthians 15:56 KJV)
When you gravitate towards sin, it will sting you. And it stings with death. And Christ has redeemed us from it.  And so, whosoever lowers the hedge, the serpent will bite him. Yes, God will not condemn you. But you know what, your conscience will condemn you because you still have a conscience.
Let’s always remember that we are the light of the world. We have a responsibility to show the world how it should be done.  We are the ones who will show the world that there is a better way to live. Therefore, you cannot afford to live in sin.

DAILY CONFESSION

I will bless the Lord at all time and His praises shall continually be in my mouth.  I sought the Lord and He heard me and delivered me from all my fears. I look unto the Lord and I was lightened and my face was not ashamed. (Ps. 34:1-4)

The Lord gives me the seed to sow and the bread to eat. He guides me continually He satisfies my soul in drought, he makes my bones fat. I am like a well-watered garden and like a spring of water whose waters fail not. I will build houses and live in them; I will plant vineyards and eat the fruit of them. I will not build, and another inhabits, I will not plant and another eats. I shall not labour in vain nor bring forth for trouble. I will not go out in haste, nor go by flight; for the Lord will go before me and the God of Israel will be my reward. His kindness shall not depart from me neither shall the covenant of peace be removed. (Is. 55:10; Is. 58:11, Is. 65:21-23, Is. 52:11; Is. 54:10)

Every day and in every way, I am getting better: spiritually, physically, financially, mentally, morally, and in all my endeavours.

I am called for a purpose. I will fulfil this purpose and I will arrive at God’s ordained destiny for my life. Nothing will cut me short. I will make a formidable impact in my world for the Kingdom.

It is my week of All Grace!
