You will notice that in chapter 7 and verse 3, God spoke to Gideon saying ‘’Now therefore come proclaim to the hearing of the people, saying whoever is afraid and trembling, let him return and depart from Mount Gilead.’’ ‘So 22,000 people returned, but 10,000 remained.(NASV) When you drop down to verses 4-6, you will equally notice that the number further dropped to 300. That large army reduced to a mere 300, represents believers who shift their ground because of FEAR.
