We are thankful, and testifying to the glory of God for His awesomeness, grace, favour and deliverance He has shown us as a family over these past years. Since our relocation from Port Harcourt in 2010 and joining TREM, God has been faithful in honouring the declaration of his servants Bishop Mike and Bishop Peace Okonkwo. This is evident as those things we have been struggling to achieve individually and collectively as a family have been yielding positive results.
In order of occurrence, we are thankful to God for making us partake in the institution of marriage as we marked our tenth year wedding anniversary on the 28th December 2012. God has blessed us with three wonderful children. He took us from a very humble beginning to where we are now. The results of each year’s theme are clearly visible in our lives, particularly in 2012 (tagged the year of Greater Glory) as eight out of twelve prayer requests were fully granted. The most pressing one among the requests was the desire to build our own house. To the glory of God between January 2012 and November 2012, the Lord blessed us with a home to call our own – a four bedroom flat duplex, in Ajah axis, of Lagos. Truly He is our Jehovah Jireh. We make bold to say it because there was no fat bank account anywhere before and during the project but miraculously, God was providing for us. He never allowed us to be stuck or stranded.
At a point, my wife became so worried that she started looking for a house because our accommodation rent then in Ikorodu was fast running out and the Landlord was not ready for any re-negotiation or extension of payment simply because we refused his offer to purchase the house. We thank God for giving us a prophet in the house, our Big Daddy. Each time he mounted the altar, his declarations were always “you would build that house”, and those prophesies came through for us. THANK YOU SIR; YOUR STRENGTH SHALL BE RENEWED LIKE THAT OF THE EAGLE.
Like I earlier stated, every theme of the year had a way of blessing us. 2013 is tagged the year of “Overcomers”. The God of TREM, truly overcame for us on the first of January, 2013 on our way home after the crossover service. During the service, Bishop Peace came over to where my wife and children were sitting and anointed them, and came back again and anointed my children twice on their hands. Little did we know that the anointing was a seed of God’s protection and deliverance in our lives. As we left the church after close of service (5:30am) before we passed through Third Mainland Bridge, my wife and the children were already asleep and I drove till I entered Ajah, Badore Road, close to our house.
Suddenly our car veered off the road, jumped on the pavement, brought down the street light on the pavement and headed towards a carpentry workshop, where it finally stopped with the pole crushing the windscreen. The owner of the carpentry workshop who had just come back from from church, was sleeping beside where our car eventually stopped. I only regained consciousness when my wife was screaming ‘God of Bishop Mike Okonkwo!’ from her sleep. It was like a film.
The children came out of the car without any bruises, and only my wife had a minor injury. In my case, the big air bag had burst open and protected my face. Although, the car was badly damaged, it was an overcoming miracle. We overcame by the reason of the anointing and the prophetic declaration of Bishop Mike Okonkwo. I took my wife and children to hospital that morning and after examining my wife, we were asked to go home as my wife was certified okay. PRAISE GOD!!
Just like Big Daddy will say “the devil will not cut my cake”. We came back home, and my wife cooked the New Year food. We popped the wine we bought for the New Year celebration and we celebrated God’s goodness over our lives. We knew the devil was just jealous about all the good things God had done for us these past ten years, particularly in 2012, but there is nothing the devil can do about it because the prophetic declarations of Bishop Mike must came to fulfilment in our lives and destiny. Please, church join us to give God thanks!
