My Experience at KLWC Music Night Zamar 2014 By Ibukun Onapajo
From the moment I heard about the Music Night ZAMAR 2014, and saw the various artistes invited to minister at the concert, I was excited and filled with expectations to be musically and spiritually lifted and of course have FUN!
On that beautiful night, I arrived church at exactly 8pm, got myself a good seat to enable me see, hear and feel every bit of music. I walked round to say hello to a few of my friends and also got ready for the special National Anthem rendition by moi and Joe Smart. *smiles*.
The program started by 9pm with the opening prayer, followed by a 15mins music interlude. Then the time for the National Anthem came, my stomach this time rumbled with excitement. Dressed in a lovely long red dress, I gracefully walked to the stage with Joe and delivered it beautifully.
The praise session came up right after this and it was amazing as always, it was also colourful because the praise leaders and back ups wore different traditional attires representing the various Nigerian tribes. After this the comedian came and told funny jokes, and everyone laughed, which was a good one for me as everyone was already in a relaxed mood and ready to enjoy the night.People from all over had come to experience the concert.
The choirs appealed to every category of people in the crowd. The South-South choir opened the stage with their cultural song and I could see from the response of the people that it was beautifully done and everyone enjoyed it. The Zone 1 choir also performed amazingly well, I particularly enjoyed their afro beat song *big smile*. Not forgetting the young Ramsey and brother and the young man that did a rap song (can’t remember his name now) also did well.
Our very own Emeka Jonathan, Min Lillian and Min Christy wowed the crowd with their amazing voices and anointed ministrations. The saxophonist played beautifully and skillfully, it made me remember how the bible described that anytime David played the harp for Saul, the evil spirit would leave him and the gentle Spirit of God rests on him, it was indeed glorious and heavenly for me.
Minister MK and Mario also lead us to worship God beautifully. Now the atmosphere was seriously charged and I could feel the presence of God. The dancers also praised God with their dance just like David did. I observed everyone was active and no one was sleeping (well I dint see anyone sleep around me). The comedian came on stage at intervals to refresh us with funny jokes. And then the moment I had been waiting for finally came.
Nathaniel Bassey…hmmmmm, speechless… all I can say is he ministered to me in a way I have never experienced. He was gentle, calm, skillful and anointed in delivering the words the Holy Spirit had laid in his heart. I could tell he didn’t care about himself but just wanted the name of God to be glorified. And then he started to blow his trumpet and I heard a side comment from someone, “the person said, this guy must go to heaven because God will want him to blow the trumpet” and I just smiled because I understood what he was trying to say. God Bless Nathaniel.
Shortly after that, Cobhams, another talented and anointed minister was called up to minister. I hadn’t even left the realm Nathaniel had taken me to and then Cobhams came and continued the glorious lifting with his heavenly and anointed ministration, all I could say was this year’s concert is different.
After the glorious and heavenly experience I had with these great ministers, Minister Chineyen was called to the stage and it was another amazing time praising God. Though I didn’t understand most of the words she spoke because her songs were done in Igbo language but I connected in the spirit and I was still blessed. And finally Bisi came up and also lead us in praise and it was as if the concert should not end.
It was indeed a different, glorious, wonderful, amazing and fun time in God’s presence. And I concluded that this year’s music concert is the best we’ve had in a while. Thumbs up to the planning committee members, you all are exceptional, excellent and wonderful people of God. God bless!!!!!
